PREPARATIVE PROCEDURE
1 | Prepare phase A and warm it to 75-80°C; |
2 | Add Olivem® 1000 and Oliwax® LC flakes (phase B) into phase A, under magnetic stirring; |
3 | Stir for 5 minutes and then homogenize for 1 minute using a suitable dispersion unit (e.g., Silverson, Ultra-Turrax®); |
4 | Prepare phase C and warm it to 70-75°C; |
5 | Add phase C to phase AB at 75°C and homogenize for a few minutes using a suitable dispersion unit (e.g., Silverson, Ultra-Turrax®); |
6 | Put the warm emulsion in the oven at 80°C for 20 minutes; |
7 | Homogenize the emulsion for a few minutes using a suitable dispersion unit (e.g., Silverson, Ultra-Turrax®); |
8 | Cool batch to room temperature under slow agitation; |
9 | Add phase D to batch, mix, then add phase E to batch and mix. |
10 | Prepare phase F solution, add to batch in amount necessary to adjust batch pH to between 5.5 - 6.5, and homogenize. |
