A broad-spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen lotion using both organic and mineral UV filters. SolaStay® S1 is incorporated to mitigate the photocatalytic and reactive oxygen species generating activities of the oxides. Oh Wow! 50 Lotion was subjected to in vitro analysis and delivered SPF ~55, PFA (PPD) ~18 performance with critical wavelength 381 nm.

PREPARATIVE PROCEDURE
1 | To a secondary vessel add phase A and start mixing, add phase B and heat to 80°C. |
2 | Add phase C into phase AB, mixing well until all are dissolved. |
3 | To the main vessel add phase D, start mixing and add phase E items in order. |
4 | When solids of phase E are fully incorporated in phase D, heat phase DE to 75°C. |
5 | When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add phase ABC to phase DE with mixing. |
6 | Start homogenizing batch and after 3 minutes, resume center stir mixing and start cooling batch. |
7 | When batch is below 45°C add phase F ingredients one by one in order with mixing. |
8 | Continue mixing until batch is at room temperature, replacing any water lost to evaporation and mixing until smooth. |
