SolaStay® S1 provides very rapid and efficient excited state quenching of butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, protecting it from photo-degradation and improving sunscreen performance. HallBrite® BHB provides sunscreen solvency and emolliency. In vitro analysis delivered SPF ~ 32, PFA (PPD)) ~11, UVA1/UV = 0.87, and critical wavelength = 379 nm.

PREPARATIVE PROCEDURE
1 | To a secondary vessel add phase A and start mixing and heat to 50 - 60°C. |
2 | Add phase B into phase A with mixing until phase B is dissolved totally, then start cooling with mixing. |
3 | To the main vessel add premixture of phase C, and then add phase D with strong mixing until a smooth gel formed. |
4 | When both phases are homogeneous, slowly add phase AB to phase CD with proper mixing until the emulsion is fully formed. |
5 | Add phase E with mixing until batch is uniform, replacing any water lost to evaporation and mixing until smooth. |
