This oil-in-water sunscreen lotion provides SPF 50 UV protection using only mineral UV filters — specifically non-nano zinc oxide. Despite its high ZnO load (25%), it is a quick-absorbing formula with flowable viscosity. HallBrite® ZDX Clear enables a high SPF performance and, in combination with Biochemica® Craft Shea Butter, provides a stable foundation and smooth texture. In vivo testing in a US laboratory (3 subjects) yielded static SPF 60, with 40 minute water resistance of SPF 50. In vitro PFA (PPD) ~18 performance with critical wavelength = 372 nm. UVA1/UV = 0.80.

PREPARATIVE PROCEDURE
1 | To a secondary vessel add phase A and start mixing, Heat to 80°C and then add phase B. |
2 | To the main vessel, add premixture phase C, start mixing and add phase D with mixing. Heat phase to 75°C. |
3 | When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add phase AB to phase CD with prop mixing. |
4 | After 5 minutes, start cooling the batch. When batch is below 50°C add phase E items one by one with mixing. |
5 | Continue mixing until batch is at room temperature, replacing any water lost to evaporation and mixing until smooth. |
6 | Adjust pH to 7.0-7.5 with phase F if needed |
