This oil-in-water sunscreen lotion provides high UV protection. The combination of SolaStay® S1, Polycrylene®, and HallBrite® BHB contributes a very strong photostability for avobenzone. In vitro testing suggests SPF ~76, PFA (PPD) ~23 performance with critical wavelength = 377 nm. In vivo testing in a US laboratory (5 subjects) yielded static SPF 85, with 80 minute water resistant SPF 80.

PREPARATIVE PROCEDURE
1 | To the main vessel add liquids of phase A, start mixing and disperse Pemulen TR-2 with strong mixing for 20-30 minutes. |
2 | Heat dispersion with gentle mixing to 70-75 °C, add phase B in phase A and mix until dissolved. |
3 | To a secondary vessel add phase C, start mixing and add phase D. Heat to 70 - 75°C and then add phase E with mixing. Add phase F before combination and mix until uniform. |
4 | When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, add phase CDEF to phase AB. |
5 | Strong mix ABCD for 3 minutes and then cool batch. |
6 | When batch is below 50°C add phase G with mixing, replace any water lost and mix until smooth. |
