Biochemica® Cocoa Butter White is obtained from the fruit of the cacao tree (Theobroma cacao), which grows in tropical regions throughout the world. The butter is extracted from the seed kernels and is highly refined and deodorized to yield a very white butter with no perceptible odor, making it ideally suited for use in high-end cosmetics and toiletries where color and odor are an issue. It is a relatively hard butter with a steep melting curve, ideal for body care products. It may be incorporated to reduce cutaneous dryness and improve skin elasticity without imparting the color and odor normally associated with cocoa butter. The recommended use level is application dependent and is between 3 and 100%: Hair conditioners: 2-5%; skin care lotions and creams: 3 – 5%; bar soaps: 3 – 6%; balms: 5-100%.
