HallStar® PEG 6000 DS is an ester made from the reaction of vegetable-derived triple-pressed grade stearic acid and a defined high molecular weight polyethylene glycol. It is commonly used to thicken mild, amphoteric-containing surfactant systems, such as baby shampoos, baby baths, facial scrubs, facial cleansers, body washes, body scrubs and shaving foams. It also finds application in color cosmetics as an auxiliary emulsifer (HLB ~18.4). The typically employed use level is 1 – 3%.
