HallStar® PG10-DCDC, Polyglyceryl-10 Caprylate/Caprate is a natural polyglyceryl ester made through the esterification reaction between a polymer of glycerin and Caprylic and Capric acids. The hydrophilic decaglycerol portion is produced through a chlorine free, high heat distillation process. This results in an oligomeric, or crosslinked hyperbranched decaglycerol molecule which is then esterified with Caprylic and Capril acids. It is a pale yellow to amber viscous liquid with a bland odor and is produced using RSPO Mass Balance Palm.
Polyglyceryl-10 Caprylate/Caprate is an Oil-in-Water, O/W, emulsifier, a hydrophilic skin conditioning agent, solubilizer and non-ionic surfactant. It is PEG, PPG and Chlorine free, non-irritating to skin and shows no sensitizing effects when used in beauty products. The ingredient can be used as a polysorbate replacement as well as an emulsion stabilizer, fragrance carrier and foam stabilizer.
HallStar® PG10-DCDC has an effective HLB of 14.5 and produces highly stable, rich and luxurious textured emulsions and spray products. Typical use levels are 1.0% to 7.0% in formulation.
