HallStar® PG6-DO, Polyglyceryl-6 Dioleate is a natural polyglyceryl ester made through the esterification reaction between a polymer of glycerin and oleic acid. The hydrophilic hexaglycerol portion is produced through a chlorine free, high heat distillation process. This results in an oligomeric or crosslinked hyperbranched hexaglycerol molecule which is then esterified with oleic acid. It is a hazy yellow to amber liquid with a bland odor and is produced using RSPO Mass Balance Palm.
Polyglyceryl-6 Dioleate is for both water-in-oil, w/o and oil-in-water, o/w, emulsions and is also a solubilizer, skin conditioning agent and non-ionic surfactant. It is PEG, PPG and Chlorine free, non-irritating to skin and shows no sensitizing effects when used in beauty products.
HallStar® PG6-DO has an effective HLB of 9/10 and produces highly stable, rich and luxurious textured emulsions as well as a wetting agent for pigment and sunscreen actives. Typical use levels are 1.0% to 5.0% in formulation.
